A long lost friend called on Sunday. "along, i'm getting married on June!'. It was an unexpected suprise. S. Devagaran or fondly known as Deva to me was my neighbour in Ipoh. We live next to each other's house for almost 10 years. We grew up together. And the fact that he is also my age made us closer. We did so many things together. We went in and out of each other's house all the time.. i love his mother's curry so much that it i've developed the love for curry.. so my fiance has learnt that to get to man's heart is through his tummy, she cooks wonderful curry for me now.
Anyway, this unique friendship that we developed over the years has taught me 1 thing. That love knows no boundary. You can be malay and have a chinese or indian best friend. Race, religion is not a factor. What matter is your heart.
But time has a funny way of making people apart. After we moved to a different area i kinda lost contact with him. And after so many years of not hearing his voice, i didnt skip a beat and knew right away that he was Deva..my bestest friend from Ipoh.
Some things would never change. Even after all the time, i could trace the warmth and honesty and love in his voice. So machi.. if u r reading this, pls know that i'm so happy for you. That bride of yours is the luckiest woman in Malaysia to have you as her husband. have a good journey together bro. Pray for me too.. i wanna get married too.. hahaha...
